In a competitive, interdisciplinary world, it requires self-exploration and a sense of responsibility for the well-being of others. Leadership is a process, an attitude that can be developed. It is a journey that lasts a lifetime, and it can start for you right here and right now before you leave this campus.

The Leadership Certificate and Digital Open Badge validate that a student has completed a comprehensive journey combining theoretical learning with practical, hands-on experience and self-reflection.
While interdisciplinary workshops lay the theoretical foundation, volunteering and community service form the core experiential heart of the program. Volunteering is far more than fulfilling a requirement—it is a meaningful act of active citizenship, social engagement, and giving back. Through community service, leadership theory comes to life: you put into practice the tools, communication techniques, and problem-solving strategies learned during workshops in real-world environments.

This certificate and badge are open to Polimi Lecco Campus students enrolled in:
- Bachelor’s programs (Laurea Triennale): Currently in their 2nd or 3rd year
- Master’s programs (Laurea Magistrale / Specialistica)
- Single-Cycle Master's (Quinquennale): Final two years
To obtain the Leadership Certificate and Digital Open Badge, follow these steps:
- Submit the Initial Application: Fill out the online form (ideally at least one year before your projected graduation date).
- Pick up your Information Packet: Visit the Center for Leadership Development (Office E11, open every Tuesday from 09:30 till 2:30 pm) to pick up your Student Packet for Leadership Certificate, which contains guidance and necessary validation forms.
- Attend 3 Workshops: Sign up for and complete a minimum of three co-curricular leadership workshops (two obligatory, one elective).
- Complete 20+ Hours of Volunteering / Service: Put your leadership learning into practice by completing at least 20 hours of community or campus service, and submit the Field of Action Validation Form.
- Submit a Reflection Statement: Write a brief essay reflecting on how your workshop learning was applied during your service experience and how it shaped your growth.
- Notify the Center: Inform the Center for Leadership Development of your graduation date at least 3 weeks prior to graduation to process your certificate and open badge.
Certificates and Digital Open Badges will be awarded upon graduation.

The office is open every Tuesday from 09:30AM till 2:30 PM, or by appointment.
After you fill out your online initial application to advise us of your intentions to follow this program, you must stop by the Center for Leadership Development (E11) to pick up your program packet. All other forms need to be sent together at least 3 weeks prior to your graduation date. All the information you provide will be verified and your Request for Issue of Leadership Certificate will be processed.
